FAQs

Everything is sold out, how can I place an order?

We are small business, and Erik is the only craftsman creating our products. Add your name to our mailing list by signing up for our newsletter, and we will let you know as soon as products are available again.

Can we visit your blacksmith shop?

Yes! Please contact us on our contact form and we will set up a time for you to see the shop.

Do I need to scrub and clean my wok or pan before using it?

Your wok has been pre-seasoned with high temperatures which create an protective iron oxide, in addition to canola oil. There is NO machine oil on your cookware. You do not need to scrub and clean your wok/pan before use. Your wok/pan is ready to cook with immediately.

How do I care for my garden tools, fireplace tools, and hooks?

This ironwork is finished with linseed oil and beeswax. This is a 100% natural finish and it can last for years indoors, or for the garden tools, if they are cleaned and stored dry after each use. Should any rust develop here are the steps to care for your metal work:

  1. Use steel wool or a wire brush to remove rust
  2. Apply a thin coat of linseed oil, tung oil, or mineral oil
  3. Wipe excess oil with a cloth and allow to dry

Yes. Contact us within 14 days of delivery, and ship the item(s) back within 30 days of delivery.  Because of the nature of custom made items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, we can't accept returns for them.

Conditions of return

Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes. You can cancel your order if it has not yet shipped, and is a regular product. You cannot cancel a custom order.

Do the flat bottomed woks and pans work on induction and glass top stoves?

Yes, but please refer to your stovetop owners manual if you’re uncertain or need specific information - they should have a note regarding carbon steel pans, size of pans to burners, etc. We recommend matching the pan to the burner size, using a copper diffuser if you typically experience hotspots and always seasoning your pan in the oven rather than the stovetop to ensure even heating. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact us!

Will these products last?

These hand forged products are made to last a lifetime. Each purchase comes with a Lifetime Guarantee at no additional charge to you. Our guarantee protects the buyer from any cracks or breakage that may occur over time. If this happens a free replacement in the original size will promptly be issued.

Can they rust?

Yes. Everything is made with carbon steel, which can rust. All products are finished with either linseed oil and beeswax or a high heat canola oil finish to protect from rust. Over time and use, your products will rust. It is super easy to restore it to a lustrous finish.

Do you wholesale or sell retail?

Thank you for your interest, but we do not. Our process is very time and labor intensive. We make a limited number of products, which we sell directly through our online store and out of our workshop.

Are these really hand made?

Yes! Erik Newquist is the craftsman who makes everything you see here. His apprentice, Solomon, helps with some of the beginning processes. Because everything is hand made, actual product may vary slightly in size, shape or color.
